Scope of Work

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assessment and oversight of repairs of U.S. Navy ships’ propulsion shafting and main reduction gears (MRG).
  • Interpreting naval engineering drawings and piping diagrams.

Qualifications Required for the Position

General Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of “journeyman level” experience within the last five (5) years in every area (1) through (4) below, unless otherwise specified.
  1. Independently or leading a team of technicians troubleshooting, repairing or testing U.S. Navy ship structural, mechanical or electrical equipment/systems.
  2. Independently or leading a team accomplishing formal material condition assessments (Ex. TSRA, ICMP, INSURV or similar) of U.S. Navy ship’s systems.
  3. Communicating the findings of the above troubleshooting/assessments with official reports.
  4. Documented experience with the following, or similar, workload databases: Microsoft Office products, Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), Electronic Departure From Specifications (eDFS), Navy Ship’s Engineering Drawing Repository (NSEDR) and TAAS-Info.
Note: There is no minimum time duration for experience with these programs.   Specific Experience: The experience required is a combination of mechanical and electrical disciplines but is primarily mechanical in nature.
