Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Assessment and oversight of repairs of U.S. Navy ships’ compressed air systems and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (AC&R) systems.
- Interpreting naval engineering drawings and piping diagrams.
Qualifications Required for the Position
- A minimum of three (3) years of “journeyman level” experience within the last five (5) years in the following areas, unless otherwise specified.
- Independently or leading a team of technicians troubleshooting, repairing or testing U.S. Navy ship structural, mechanical or electrical equipment/systems as described in the applicable section of C.9.1 – C.9.10.
- Independently or leading a team accomplishing formal material condition assessments (Ex. TSRA, ICMP, INSURV or similar) of U.S. Navy ship’s systems as described in the applicable section of C.9.1 – C.9.10.
- Communicating the findings of the above troubleshooting/assessments with official reports.
- Documented experience with the following, or similar, workload databases: Microsoft Office products, Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), Electronic Departure From Specifications (eDFS), Navy Ship’s Engineering Drawing Repository (NSEDR) and TAAS-Info. Note: There is no minimum time duration for experience with these programs.
- The experience required is a combination of mechanical and electrical disciplines, but is primarily electrical in nature.
- Assessment and oversight of repairs of the following U.S. Navy ships’ fresh water production, fuel oil, lube oil and pollution abatement equipment including the associated pumps, piping and PLC controllers.
- Interpreting naval engineering drawings and piping diagrams.
Position 1:
Specific experience: The experience required is a combination of mechanical and electrical disciplines, but is primarily electrical in nature.
(a) Assessment and oversight of repairs of the following U.S. Navy ships’ fresh water production, fuel oil, lube oil and pollution abatement equipment including the associated pumps, piping and PLC controllers.
(b) Interpreting naval engineering drawings and piping diagrams.
Position 2:
Specific experience: The experience required is a combination of mechanical and electrical disciplines, but is primarily electrical in nature.
(a) Assessment and oversight of repairs of the following U.S. Navy shipboard electro-hydraulic equipment: steering systems, boat davits, cranes, elevators and hoists, or similar control and electric drive systems on high pressure hydraulic equipment.
(b) Interpreting naval engineering drawings and electrical diagrams.
